Enjoyed making this piece. I used warm earthy colours for the foreground and shadow areas, contrasted by cool highlights.
Official opening of my exhibition 'Near the Coast' opens tonight at 6pm in Baldoyle Library.

Had a great days painting today on Lough Corrib. Painted the only lighthouse 'on a lake' in Ireland at Ballincurrin. It was a great spot for a swim too!
Came back to the studio to find that my work was being featured on an American website/ forum for artists called Empty Easel. You can check the article here. Its great to know they enjoyed my work.

Hi from Co.Mayo.Today was my second day painting in 'the west' and we got out on location on Lough Corrib. It was brilliant to be outdoors even though it did rain a bit.
I have managed to keep up my daily painting as well as the landscape work being made here.
Tried to post last night but had computer problems.typical!
This Lollipop was delicious!

'Near the Coast' - Exhibition Notice

Have an exhibition opening on Monday next so don't think I will have time to paint and post tomorrow as I will be setting up the show. I will be heading to the west of Ireland to paint with artist John Dinan next week during the first week of the exhibition, but will be back for the official opening on Monday the 25th. Really looking forward to it.

Have to admitt the time spent on the last couple of pieces has been more than a day, but I am enjoying the results.

Got a lovely email yesterday regarding my 'daily paintings' and that sort of support and encouragement makes the process even more enjoyable.

Lego has such a universial appeal. I hope its as popular with boys and girls young and old as it always was.
