'Home' a triangular history-Exhibit Notice

Poet and writer John O' Donohue wrote: ' There is nothing as un - neutral as a home. Even the most ordinary home is an implicit laboratory of consciousness quietly shaping belief, expectation and life direction. On the life-journey of each individual the nature of the mind determines what is seen and valued'.

This Monday 1st of June sees my third Annual Solo Exhibition open in The Sheen Falls Estate, in beautiful Kenmare, Co. Kerry.
The show is entitled 'Home - a triangular history' and will comprise of three bodies of work which I created in both Ireland and Thailand.
'Essence' the title of the piece above is one of a series of five pieces I have been working on for some time. These are images in my work that I seem to 'curve back towards' again and again.

This painting along with the series that accompanies it is richly layered, glowing and imbued with a magical feeling of movement and stillness.
View a selection of works that will feature in the show here on my website.

If you would like to reserve and purchase a piece of work, contact me at info@richardhearns.com
Wish me 'good luck'.

VineTomatoes 5x7in

Creating this painting of these Vine Tomatoes was so enjoyable that I just can't put it into words.
Think that the painting 'oozes' the energy of the subject - the plump deliciousness of it!
Am very happy with this piece. Hope you like it too.

The Lions Club group exhibition which finished up yesterday was a brilliant success, and I am delighted that my work has gone in some way to help the charity and the worthy organisations that it supports.
Thanks to the people who purchased my work and supported such a worthy cause. Hope you and your families will enjoy my paintings for generations to come.

Glass Jar with Brushes 5x5in

Glass Jar with Brushes - oil/panel - 5"x5" - sold

Loved every minute of creating this piece. From the outset I felt the marks I was making had inherit in them those atmospheric and painterly qualities that I strive for.
Hope you like it too.

You know from time to time I post an image of a painting and then after a few days ( in retrospect) feel that there is something missing in the piece - that it needs more work and attention. I suppose that's all got to do with my development as a painter - Asking myself, 'How can I make this better?'How can I improve this?' So don't be surprised if every once in a while you see the same painting with a few 'adjustments' being posted on my Blog/Website.

The Lions Club Group Exhibition, which will feature three of my paintings, opens tonight in Malahide at 8pm. The show will include Art Works by established painters like James English, R.H.A , Mike Fitzharris, Thomas Ryan R.H.A , John Dinan, Padrig Lynch, Alan Kenny, Michael Killen, and Pamela Leonard, A.N.C.A.

The show will also be open for viewing on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th from 12pm to 6pm.

Am looking forward to the show. Can't wait to meet with some of these artists.
Hope you can come along.
Wish me good luck.

Red Pepper in Light and Shadow

sold

Red Pepper - Oil/Panel - 5"x5"

This piece was created five months ago back in May of this year.
It's very interesting the way peppers reflect light off there smooth shiny surface and with this piece I decided to create a nice diagonal shadow that fell across the picture plane.

I hadn't photoed the piece by the time I brought it into a gallery with other works for there perusal, and only just recently got an image back off the gallery who bought it! Lesson learned! Do your own archival work.
