Flamingo Flower 5x5in

It was late in the night when I began painting this dazzling Flamingo flower that was sitting in a glass vase on the desk in my room in Korat town. I had fun playing with the light, shapes and composition.

Will be posting the first of the larger paintings made during this trip on my website today.

Flower in Glass Bowl 5x5in

Was greeted by this beautiful daisy like flower sitting on the bathroom shelf beside the mirror in my room where I stayed. It just had to be painted, so that's just what I did that night standing at the bathroom door.

While travelling by train north east towards the town of Korat I happened upon this image from my carriage window.
The landscape was changing- I knew Isan was close.

Glasswing Butterfly 5x7in

This painting of a Glasswing Butterfly was the second piece as far as I can remember to be completed on my trip aboard.
The see-through wings are a defense mechanism so he's hard to see in flight.
